Commercial banks in the country have been asked not to allow cash withdrawals of more than Tk1 lakh on Thursday amid the country’s current situation.

The Bangladesh Bank (BB) gave this instruction in an urgent message to the managing directors of the banks on Wednesday ​​night.

The central bank asks banks if possible, to stop money feeding to the branches amid the weak security because of the absence of police on the streets.
