Barguna’s Additional Superintendent of Police Maharam Ali has been transferred to the Barishal Range DIG office following his controversial role during a factional clash of the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL).
Confirming the matter, Barishal Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) SM Akteruzzaman said, "Maharam Ali has been posted at my office considering the overall situation."
This transfer was made after the incident of a clash ensued between two factions of BCL in front of Shilpakala Academy at Barguna on Monday during a programme of the National Mourning Day.Police beat the BCL men up to disperse them which created much criticism on social media.
