The election will be held on time and it will not be stopped due to violence and sabotage, said Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Tuesday, reports UNB.
“The Election Commission announced the election schedule and it will be held on time. 29 registered political parties are participating in the election. A festive mood has been prevailing in the country over the election,” he said. The Home minister came up with the remarks while talking to reporters at the secretariat after a meeting on law and order ahead of 31st night and Christmas Day celebrations.
Criticising BNP, Asaduzzaman said the party (BNP) has adopted an undemocratic way for obstructing the election after knowing their certain defeat in the election.
“We think we don’t have anything else other than election though which change in power is possible. If they (BNP) want to come to power they have to join the next general election,” he added.
