Election Commissioner Md Alamgir on Wednesday said the election commission will take all the required steps to hold a free, fair, peaceful and credible parliamentary election on January 7.
"The election commission will also create a congenial atmosphere so that voters can cast their voting rights," he said, reports BSS.
Alamgir said while exchanging views with returning officers, assistant returning officer, law enforcers and local representatives at the conference room of the deputy commissioner in Jamalpur.About infringement of the electoral code, the election commissioner said many of the candidates do not know much about it.
He said if any candidate violates it frequently, no mercy should be given them.
