At least two people were killed and three others were injured as a pick-up van and a Mahendra collided head-on at Nouapara under Assasuni Upazila of Satkhira on Friday morning.
The deceased were identified as Fazila Khatun, 50, wife of Arshad Ali of Gojalia village and Achhia Begum, 55, wife of Kashem Gazi of Lokkhikhola village under the Paikgachha upazila.
Confirming the matter, Assasuni Police Station officer-in-charge Indrajit Kumar said hajj pilgrims onboard a Mahendra and a pick-up van collided head-on at 7:00 am, leaving two dead on the spot and wounded three others.The injured were rushed to Assasuni Upazila Health Complex, he added.
