DMP Additional Commissioner of Police (Detective) Mohammad Harun-or -Rashid told the journalists about the murder of MP Annar that the assassination of MP Anwarul Azim Annar was planned in Bangladesh. This plan was made two-three months in advance in two houses in Dhaka. That plan has been implemented in Kolkata.
The additional police commissioner of DMP gave this information at the DB office on Minto Road around 3 pm on Thursday.
Harun-or-Rashid said, “The plan to kill Anwarul Azim Anar was made two to three months ago. Due to strong police surveillance in Dhaka, Kolkata was chosen as the place of murder. Criminals choose Kolkata because as they thought they will not be noticed by the Bangladesh police if they commit crimes on foreign land.”He also said, “The criminals did not have the courage to commit crimes on the Bangladesh land. However, they could not escape after this murder. We have arrested three. A few others have been kept under surveillance.”
The DB chief said the main planner of the murder was Anwarul Azim Anar's friend Khataruzzaman Shaheen, which was executed by Aman Ullah (real name is Shimul).
