simple future tense এর ব্যবহার

ভবিষ্যৎ বোঝাতে Be about to (+ infinitive) এর ব্যবহার : খুব শিগগিরই কোনো কিছু ঘটতে যাচ্ছে বোঝাতে আমরা Be about to ব্যবহার করি। [We use be about to for an action or event that will happen very soon.] নিচের উদাহরণগুলো লক্ষ্য করুন :

1. Everyone sits down when the film is about to start.

2. I have never drunk alcohol in my life and I am not about to start now.

3. We walked quickly home when it was about to rain.

4. The audience fell silent when the President was about to appear.[ রাষ্ট্রপতির উপস্থিত হওয়ার মুহূর্তে দর্শকরা নীরব হয়ে গিয়েছিল। অর্থাৎ রাষ্ট্রপতি শিগগিরই হাজির হচ্ছেন এই কথা শুনে দর্শকরা নীরব হয়ে পড়েছিল বোঝাচ্ছে।]

5. When a plane is moved to the end of a runway, it usually means it is about to take off.

6. I am about to call you. [আমি অতি শিগগিরই তোমাকে ফোন করছি বা করব।]

Be about to ‰i mGã just যুক্ত হওয়ার অর্থ হলো কোনো কিছু [অ্যাকশন] অন্য কিছু দ্বারা ব্যাহত বা বাধাগ্রস্ত হলেও অ্যাকশনটি যে শিগগিরই ঘটতে যাচ্ছে এর উপর জোরারোপ করা বোঝায়। [When be about to is used with just, it emphasizes that something is about to happen when it is interrupted by something else.]

1. I was just about to eat my dinner when the phone rang. [যখন ফোন বাজলো তখন আমি নৈশভোজ গ্রহণ করতে যাচ্ছিলাম।]

ভবিষ্যৎ বোঝাতে Simple present tense এর ব্যবহার : ভবিষ্যতে কোনো একটি নির্দিষ্ট সময়ে কোনো কিছু সংঘটিত হবে বা কোনো কিছুর আয়োজন বা বন্দোবস্ত করা হয়েছে বোঝাতে ভবিষ্যৎ অর্থে আমরা Simple present tense ব্যবহার করি। [We use simple present tense for the future when we refer to something that has been scheduled or arranged to happen at a particular time such as a timetable.] নিচের উদাহরণগুলো দেখুন :

1.Karim leaves Dhaka for New York on 1st October. [করিম নিউইয়র্কের উদ্দেশ্যে ঢাকা ছাড়বে ১ অক্টোবর।]

2. The first flight to Chittagong leaves at 6 a.m. [চট্টগ্রামের উদ্দেশ্যে প্রথম ফ্লাইট ছাড়বে সকাল ৬টার সময়।]

3. The train for Dhaka departs from platform 2.

4. The special sales offer closes August 31.

5. The new airport opens on Christmas Eve.

6. Our final exam starts on 2nd December. [আমাদের চূড়ান্ত পরীক্ষা ২ ডিসেম্বর শুরু হচ্ছে বা হবে।]

The simple present tense and the present continuous tense

ভবিষ্যৎ বোঝাতে আমরা simple present tense and present continuous tense উভয়-ই ব্যবহার করতে পারি। তবে এদের অর্থে কিছুটা পার্থক্য রয়েছে। [We can use the simple present and the present continuous tenses for the future.] নিচের বাক্যদুটি দেখুন :

1. They have a drinking session next Sunday. (= the drinking session occurs every Sunday.) [আগামী রবিবার তাদের একটি ড্রিংকিং সেশন রয়েছে। এই বাক্যে simple present tense ব্যবহারের অর্থ হচ্ছে প্রতি রবিবারই তাদের ড্রিংকিং সেশন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়ে থাকে।]

2. They are having a drinking session next Sunday. (= perhaps, not every Sunday.) [এই বাক্যের অর্থও একই তবে এখানে present continuous tense ব্যবহারের অর্থ দাঁড়াচ্ছে তাদের ড্রিংকিং সেশন প্রতি রবিবার নাও হতে পারে।] [চলবে]
