17. As if /As though:- As if ev as though “যেন” অর্থ প্রকাশ করে। As if ev As though এর প্রথম অংশ  Present Indefinite হলে পরের Ask Past Indefinite হয়। আবার প্রথম অংশ Past tense হলে পরের অংশ Past Perfect tense হয়।

            1.He tells the  matter as if he knew it.

            2.  He told the matter as if he had known it.

            3. She proceeded as though I had not spoken.

            Note:- কোন কিছু হওয়া বুঝাতে Unreal Past এর অর্থ প্রকাশ করতে as though/ as if / wish এর পরে were বসে।

            1. He runs fast as though he were a mad .

            2. He donates money as if he were a rich man.

            3. I wish I were a child again!

            Note: Wish এর ক্ষেত্রে  were (to be verb) ছাড়াও verb এর Present form এর পূর্বে could বা might ও বসতে পারে। ও wish ও could fly in the sky.

১৮.       Relative Pronoun:  who, whom, whose, that, which, when, where «¼viv Sentence ˆK Complete Kivi mgq Relative Pronoun এর পরে তার antecedent অনুযায়ী verb বসিয়ে Sentence টিকে Complete করতে হয় ।

            1. I saw the man who was catching fish.

            2. The boy whom you met yesterday is my brother.

            3. This is the house that he wants to buy.

            Note: ব্যক্তি বুঝালে who/whom/ whose বস্তুু/প্রাণী বুুঝালে which/ what/ that স্থান বুঝালে where  সময় বুঝালে hen  কারন বুঝালে why বসে।

১৯.       If + Conditional : ওভ সাধারণ Sentence এর প্রথমে বসে, তবে মাঝখানে এর প্রয়োগ লক্ষ্য করা যায়।  ওভ  শব্দের অর্থ যদি।

            (i) If + Present + Future : If এর ক্ষেত্রে প্রথম অংশ Present form হলে পরের অংশ Future Indefinite হয়।

1. If you obey the rules of health you will keep sound health.

2. If you read newspaper you will learn many things.

3. We will not play if it rains.

(ii) Past Indefinite + Past Conditional:- ওভ এর প্রথম অংশ Past Indefinite হলে পরের অংশের verb এর পূর্বে would/could /might হয় ।

1. If they wanted   we could help him.

(iii) If + Past Perfect + would have/could have/ might have + verb ‰i Past Participle:

1. If I had seen him I might have told him the news.

Note: Had + Sub + Verb এর Past Participle থাকলে উল্লেখিত এ নিয়মটি এক্ষেত্রেও প্রযোজ্য হবে।

1. Had he wanted  they would have helped him.

20.       By + Gerund:- By + gerund যুত্ত× Incomplete Sentence কে ঈomplete করার সময় Principal Clause (মূলঅংশ)—এর শুরুতে Sub +Verb বাকী অংশ বসে। যেমন:-

1. By drinking clean water you can keep fit.

2. We can get carbohydrate by eating rice and bread.

21.       Without + gerund:- Without + gerund যুক্তি Incomplete Sentence কে Complete করার সময় Principal Clause- এর শুরুতে Personal Subject + verb + বাকী অংশ বসাতে হয়। যেমন:-

            1. Without taking   physical exercise we can not keep our body fit.

22. Would you mind:- Would you mind যুক্ত Incomplete Sentence কে  Complete করার সময় mind  এর পর একটি  verb eসে যার সাথে  ing  যোগ করতে হয়। যেমনঃ:

            1. Would you mind taking a cup of tea?

            2. Would you mind opening the door?

২৩.       Hardly——when/Scarcely ——before: Hardly এর পর Conjunction when বা before বসে। অনুরূপভাবে Scarcelু এর পরেও before বা when বসে। যেমন:

            1. Hardly had I received the telegram when I left home.

            2. Scarcely had it rained before we reached home.

২৪.       প্রবাদ বাক্য: অনেক সময় প্রবাদ বাক্যের কোন Word incomplete থাকতে পারে, তখন উপযুক্ত ডড়ত্ফ বসিয়ে বাক্যটি Complete করতে হয়। উল্লেখ যে, প্রবাদ বাক্যে Synonym বা সমার্থক জাতীয় শব্দ না বসিয়ে প্রবাদ বাক্যে মূল শব্দটিই বসাতে হবে। যেমন:

1. A stitch in time saves nine.

2. All that glitters is not gold.

3. Where there is a will there is a way.

4. A friend is need is a friend indeed.
