Robi is a poor rickshaw puller. He drives his rickshaw to different areas of the city. One day he saw that some men were selling lottery tickets enticing the passers-by. He always thought himself to be an unlucky man. The harsh realities of life imprinted this idea deeply in his heart. So, he never bought any lottery ticket. "What is the point in wasting money buying lottery tickets? My days of hardship and deprivation will never end, " he used to think with a deep sigh. But one day it so happened that quite whimsically he bought a lottery ticket. Returning home, he gave it to his wife. He was so careless about the ticket that he even did not remember the date of draw. One day on the way, he found some people talking about lottery draw. They had a newspaper before them. At this, he thought about his lottery ticket. So, He bought a newspaper of that day. He returned home in the evening and told his wife to bring the ticket. His wife brought it and he took it to a nearby school teacher. The teacher gave him the happiest news of his life. It was that he won the first prize of the lottery. He could not believe his eyes. He returned home and kept the ticket in a secret place. On the appointed day of the prize-giving ceremony he received the check of the first prize. He realized to his wonder that he is the owner of thirty lakh taka. "Oh, Allah, you make me the millionaire within a fraction of second"-Robi mumbled paying gratitude towards the almighty.

now and then. One day while serving tea, in the half way she stumbled and fell in the floor. As a result two tea-cups were broken. The house mistress flew into a rage supposing it a great loss. The mistress made Rina clear the floor instantly. Rina felt nervous as she was not prepared for this untoward situation. After a while the mistress dragged her into the kitchen room holding her disheveled hair and started beating black and blue. She also made a spud hot and touched it to Rina's arms and back. Rina was crying loudly but there was none to save her from this hellish torture. Being tired the demonic lady stopped beating and locked the kitchen door leaving the poor girl inside. In the evening when the master came home, he asked about Rina. The mistress told him everything. Hearing this, the master became angry and threatened her that he did not want to see such a villainous act in future as it was a sheer child abuse. He then took Rina to a doctor and gave her initial treatment like a father.
